A search warrant executed at a Ford Avenue residence has led police to seize prescription medication and drug paraphernalia.

Waverly Police Chief Larry Roe is reporting that members of his office’s Special Response Team executed a search warrant at 216 Ford Avenue, Apartment D at 11:30 p.m. last week in connection with a drug investigation.

During the investigation, headed by Detective Jeremy Masters and Patrolman Joe Taylor, controlled drug buys for prescription medication were made at the residence. “We’re starting these back up,” said Roe, referring to the execution of search warrants. “We have some investigations going on, and hopefully we’ll be doing more searches soon.”

The target of the investigation, 31-year-old Janai L. Justice, will have a case presented to the next term of the Pike County Grand Jury for trafficking in drugs.
